July 5 - Paris France to Antwerp, Belgium

This morning we headed out to the train station by way of Uber as we could not imagine dragging our luggage all the way to the subway - up and down stairs etc!  It was a great decision for all of us - too much luggage when you don’t have your bike with you with all the storage on the bikes! The Paris train station is not near as grand as the Antwerp station - we had to stop to take a picture of the grand entrance!

The train registered around 175 mph and was a very smooth ride.  Two hours later and we arrived in Antwerp.  The cab was a very tight fit and we had luggage piled up around us!  Arrived at the hotel and immediately decided to get a bite to eat before heading out downtown to see the sites.

Connie had arranged to meet up with two new EPR riders that are from her HOG chapter in San Diego.  There is a big Ferris wheel at the river and we decided to go up to see the sites (forgot to take a picture of the wheel).  Then headed out to see a few building down at the river as well.

At this point we split into two groups - Connie went with the new couple and I went with Connie’s brother John and his wife Cathy. The three of us meandered through the streets of Antwerp until we decided to have an ice cream stop.  Then back to the hotel via Uber again.

Arriving back I decided to take a much deserved nap.  Met up with a few riders downstairs for drinks and supper.  I was so happy to see Fred and Betty from Florida and so look forward to their company over the next several days.  Tomorrow we pick up the bikes - woohoo!

Until then cheers!

Today a few of us took the bus and went to the next town.  Amazing how if you don’t do this blog right away I forget the details quickly.   ...
