Today I finally got to see many of the EPR riders and met some new ones too! So great to see everyone again!
There were several EPR organizers that met us at the hotel in order to drive us to the Harley Davidson dealer to pick up our bikes. Davey Merckx came to the hotel with his son Vinn and I was so happy to see them as I had saved the Marvel miniature figurines for Vinn since at least after the 2018 EPR ride. The two Australians and myself went with Davey and Vinn to the dealer to get our bikes in Davey’s new car a Cupra! Wow what a nice car - has some great pickup and amazing handling - I wish they had them in Canada
There was a bit of confusion and discussion with regards to bikes. The bike that I had asked for was a Street Glide but the bike they gave me was a Limited. If you know what the bikes look like the Limited is a bike with the box on the back which I am not used to so I was a little leery about taking that one. After some discussion and in order to make everything work to hopefully make some happy we had a four way switch with bikes! I took Barb’s bike which is a Sport Glide which is a small bike with no music and no GPS but still has saddle bags - Barb took Russel’s bike which was a Street Glide that had ape hanger handle bars - Russel took Richards bike which was an Ultra and Richard took my bike which was the Limited. I am very happy with the Sport Glide and Connie and I have the same bike! Twins! LOL
After we came back from the dealership from a long slow ride there were more bikers at the hotel. Lots of catching up with a few beers and then a few of us went for walk up street to see what we could have for supper as we didn’t feel like having a big sit down supper that was planned. We went to a pub which did not serve food but they allowed us to get a pizza and bring it in to eat while we had some more beer. I keep forgetting that it stays bright out here late and should have headed to bed earlier but here I am at 11:00 and just getting into bed for a very early wake up to pack the bikes and luggage trucks before heading to Berlin tomorrow which is going to be a long ride.
