Then we walked to the top of Paris - Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre. Lots of stairs and uphill climbing we did. And if that wasn’t enough then we climbed to the top of the cathedral to see the panoramic views at the top! Was totally worth the 193 steps up in a very narrow staircase going a round and a round until you thought you were going to be dizzy! Views were spectacular and so worth the climb.
We then meandered down through the streets until we got to Moulon Rouge and spent some time outside taking pictures and figuring out what to do next. Well ok - I was sitting watching the rest decide what to do next as I will just follow wherever they tell me to go as I know they want to see and go places that I will totally enjoy!
So next was the Eiffel Tower - how spectacular is it - wow is all I can say. It is an amazing structure and of course we went up by tram but came down from the second floor to the first by the stairs. We spent at least 1.5 hours enjoying the views on the first floor and I enjoyed some gelato - YUM. Connie and I decided to take the tram the rest of the way down. So funny as we are waiting for the tram it was going up and as I was watching it go up - I said oh my god there is a person underneath it running the tram!
So there was another couple that was intrigued as well so when it came down Connie was all ready to take a picture as no one else had seen him. LOL - well he was there alright but it was a dummy! We had a very good laugh about that.
After the Eiffel Tower we headed back to the subway station and back to our hotel where we had supper at an outdoor restaurant around the corner. A few more drinks and great food. Now to head off to bed after I completed down loading my pictures from my GoPro and completing my blog. Tomorrow we are off to see more sights and perhaps some shopping!
