Finally the day arrived to fly out of Canada and over to Europe. It seems like it was going to take forever to get here but then all of a sudden here we are! Flights were delayed a bit - both in Ottawa and Montreal but luck would have it I arrived at almost the exact time as my roommate Connie from California did. Her brother John and sister-in-law Cathy arrived at the same time as well. Perfect timing - we got to share the long ride from the airport to the hotel together.
Hotel is nice and close to the subway station and easy to get to almost anything that we want to see. Tom and Jody met us at the hotel and then all six of us headed out to get tickets for the trains and where we can access the hop-on-hop-off bus.
It is a great way to tour the city without having to get off all the time. We stayed on and did the whole round as we were exhausted and were having a very hard time staying awake!
Once back we found a restaurant and ordered supper - I got a chicken ceasar salad which really did not come out like I expected but was very good. Now going to have another shower and head to bed. I’m exhausted and I want to be ready to actually tour these lovely places tomorrow up close and personal. It will be a big day in Paris! I still can’t believe that I am actually seeing these places for real!
